Armonium
A downloadable game
Armonium is a sandbox RPG set in a procedurally generated fantasy universe, offering players a high degree of autonomy and freedom through its systemic simulation.
The game's script-based and data-agnostic design allows players and modders to alter simulation parameters, add new races, items, and buildings, and see the world adapt accordingly. This flexibility lets users create unique scenarios for each playthrough: with just a few adjustments, one can play in a world where elves are giants and goblins are peaceful scholars, or one where dwarves breed like rabbits and humans are distrustful of everyone but themselves.
Character progression in Armonium blends the best of old-school and modern RPGs. Players develop a range of skills that determine their success in various actions. For example, a skilled butcher extracts more resources from a carcass, a talented tanner produces higher-quality leather, and an expert leatherworker crafts more durable and damage-resistant armor. The way players approach quests will also depend on their skillsets and moral choices.
Thanks to its generative design, Armonium offers limitless possibilities and high replayability. We aim to minimize hand-holding and restrictions, allowing players to fully explore the depth of the systemic simulation to the point of breaking it.
A vertical slice is expected to be released for free sometime in 2025, with the future direction of the game shaped by user feedback afterwards. While that's being worked on, check out the video below explaining the settlements in Armonium:
Special thanks to the people whose art I'm using in this game:
